The existing website needed to better reflect the professionalism and quality of Joel Markham’s photography, particularly as his work had gained national recognition and industry awards.

While the photography itself was of an exceptionally high standard, the previous structure and presentation limited how effectively that work could be showcased across devices. Image loading, navigation, and gallery flow required improvement to ensure the work could be viewed without compromise.

The goal of the project was to create a refined, performance-focused platform that allowed the photography to take centre stage. This required careful attention to how galleries were structured, how images were delivered, and how users navigated through collections on both desktop and mobile.

The rebuild focused on delivering a clean, custom WordPress solution that prioritised image quality, speed, and usability, ensuring the website could present Joel’s work at its highest standard while remaining scalable and easy to maintain.
