Nu-Concept Constructions

Wagga Wagga, NSW

An award-winning builder whose website had not caught up

Nu-Concept had won three HIA Riverina awards across 2024 and 2025. None of them appeared on their website. The hero image was a photograph of an empty corner — no completed work, no people, nothing a homeowner could judge the craftsmanship by.

The business had not changed. The way it presented had simply fallen a long way behind what it had become.

Three weeks from start to launch, September 2026.

Nu-Concept Constructions

Project Brief

Proof first, then the ask

The old homepage asked a ready buyer to go and read a guide about choosing a builder. The new one asks them to book a free on-site visit, and puts a project form directly below the fold with a promise attached — a call back within one business day.

Everything above that is proof: three award medallions, recent projects around Wagga, and the six ways the team works on a home. The service area is stated in the first line rather than implied, and the phone number sits in the navigation next to a named person instead of in a disconnected block.

Photography was supplied by the client from their own completed projects — the change was not new imagery, but finally putting finished work where a visitor looks first.

Built on WordPress, with the gallery structured so each completed project can stand on its own rather than living inside one long scroll.

Outcomes

Judged by the industry. Chosen by the neighbours.

Three HIA Riverina wins were sitting in a drawer as far as the website was concerned. They now anchor the hero, and the line that introduces them does the real work — an award tells a homeowner the trade rates them, but a neighbour’s renovation two streets over is what actually gets the call.

The transformation

Three industry awards, and a website that mentioned none of them.

The old site was not broken. It was quiet — an empty corner of a room where the work should have been, and no sign of the awards the business had already won. Here is what changed, and why.

BeforeThe site we inherited

A full-screen photograph of an empty corner, a serif line that could belong to any trade, and two soft buttons — neither of which asked for the job.

AfterWhat we built

A finished Wagga home at dusk, three HIA Riverina medallions, and one specific ask: book a free on-site visit.

What the photograph actually shows

Before

A full-bleed shot of a bare wall meeting a ceiling. Handsome, and it showed a homeowner nothing about the standard of the work they were buying.

After

A finished heritage home in Wagga at dusk, lights on, under the gum tree it was built beside. The first thing a visitor sees is the outcome they are shopping for.

Three awards the site never mentioned

Before

No awards anywhere. HIA Riverina wins in 2024 and 2025 existed off the page entirely.

After

Three medallions in the hero — Renovation and Addition up to $500,000, Renovated Kitchen over $50,000, Renovated Bathroom up to $50,000 — with “Judged by the industry. Chosen by the neighbours.” carrying it further down the page.

A name that says what the business does

Before

“nu-concept” on its own. Recognisable to anyone who already knew them, and meaningless to anyone who did not.

After

“nu-concept constructions”. At the client’s direction the monogram was tightened and the word that tells a stranger what the business actually builds was added beneath it.

From “learn more” to “book a visit”

Before

Two buttons of equal weight — “Choosing a Wagga builder” and “View our renovations”. The first sent a ready buyer away to read a guide.

After

“Book a free on-site visit” as the primary action, with “View our work” beside it, and a project form directly below the fold that promises a call back within one business day.

The promise a homeowner actually worries about

Before

“Make your home more comfortable and increase your home value.” True of every renovation ever done.

After

“One builder, one point of contact, from the first conversation to the final handover.” The fear with a renovation is being handed around. The page answers it in the sub-line.

A person to call, not just a number

Before

A mobile number in a dark block in the corner, disconnected from the brand and from any name.

After

“In a hurry? Call Jon on 0412 595 844.” A named human, a “Meet Jon” section, and a team page built around the same faces turning up every day.

The outcome

Three industry awards that the old site never mentioned.

HIA Riverina: Renovation and Addition up to $500,000 (2025), Renovated Kitchen over $50,000 (2024), Renovated Bathroom up to $50,000 (2025). All three now sit in the first screen.

3HIA Riverina wins, 2024–2025

Branding

No rebrand on this project. The identity was already working, and the refinements that were made — tightening the monogram, adding constructions to the wordmark — came at the client’s own direction rather than ours.

Our job was to carry those decisions through the site consistently: the existing orange held as the single accent, and a warm editorial serif introduced for the headlines so a renovation reads as something considered rather than transactional. The one word that matters — love — is set in italic.

A builder you can picture before you ring

“Meet Jon.” “A small team. The same faces, every day.” “You’ll see our utes around town.”

For a renovation — months of strangers in your house — knowing who turns up matters more than any list of services. The site is built to answer that before the first phone call rather than during it.
